Suzanne Bisani: Director / Projects Manager
Suzanne migrated to Birmingham from Rwanda It was soon apparent to Suzanne that people who migrated to Birmingham needed a range of support and whilst it was available in various places people were unable to access it due to a number of barriers, for example poor English skills, poor health, dispersed communities and other immediate needs such as housing and education.
Suzanne wanted to change this to ensure new communities could access the support they needed at a time they needed it and therefore she collaborated with other community organisation leaders to set up Birmingham New Communities Network which is a coalition of more than 100 refugee and new communties support providers in and around Birmingham.
